about

I have written and performed songs for many years, and this is just my latest effort responding to the tribulations of these times, as well as the specific challenges of children growing up and keeping a marriage fresh. These songs represent my personal and hopefully nuanced grappling with these issues. My songs seem to come in a pretty constant stream; all these songs have been written over the last year or so, and have been culled from many more songs that will be part of subsequent releases. Songwriting to me is a constant process of discovery, fleshing out of ideas, honing and sharpening, and trying to maintain or enhance the original creative energy in the production phase. Hopefully these songs will reflect that effort in a way that is both provacative and enjoyable to the listener.

I come from a very musical family (my brother is a professional violinist in NYC) and have always written songs, but only recently have I made a strong effort to get these songs produced and distributed. That process has not always been easy, since I have a day job as an economist that takes a lot of my energy, as well. Hopefully the left and right sides of my brain have fully coalesced in this effort!
